Worship and witness go together. As we glorify God, we also beckon people from every tribe and tongue to taste and see that the Lord is good. Psalm 67:2 teaches us to pray for God to shower us with grace for this very purpose: "that your way may be known on earth, your saving power among the nations." In other words, when we receive God’s blessing, it is not simply for our own benefit. God intends to reveal his character to the whole world by the way that he deals so lovingly with us. What a privilege!

That’s why this hymn echoes the refrain of Psalm 67:3-4: "Let the peoples praise you, O God…. Let the nations be glad and sing for joy." As believers, we should yearn for hymns of praise to arise from every corner of the world. This is our prayer: "May songs of praise build lives of grace, to spread Your Word." As we sing, we beckon the nations to hear the gospel. And as we spread the good news of Jesus at home and abroad, we pray that all peoples would bow in praise to the Savior.
