Your Suffering Has an Expiration Date
　
　
Two things are certain about suffering. The first is that in this fallen world, we are all bound to taste its bitterness in some form or fashion. But the second is that for believers, all our suffering will come to an end. "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away" (Rev 21:4). Yet, as John Piper reminds us in this clip from Sing! Global 2020, we will still sing about suffering through eternity—not our suffering, but Christ’s. We will remember that he was pierced for our transgressions and crushed for our iniquities, and our hearts will overflow with a song of praise to the Lamb who endured the ultimate pain to redeem us.
