It's Still Happening!

Spot the bus.

5 months on they are still carrying our adverts.

For a campaign that was supposed to be for only a month everyone is surprised to keep seeing buses with trypraying adverts on. It started in April but with COVID and lock-down things have changed in the advertising world - at least as far as buses are concerned. Consequently there are still many buses carrying our adverts. The effect is striking. Someone wrote, 'It's awesome to see those ads on the buses. That little booklet changed my life.'

Here's an interesting thing. A recent study by the Centre for Digital Theology at Durham University, in conjuction with Savanta ComRes, discovered that during lock-down 1 in 4 people in the UK have engaged regularly in organised on-line worship. The numbers have risen from 4 million to 19 million during the pandemic. People are seeking answers.

This interest in spiritual things is being expressed in different ways.

One church in a quiet Cambridgeshire village put up a perspex box on the railings with trypraying booklets in. To the encouragement of the person responsible, approximately one booklet is taken every day, 40 so far. If you would like to do the same, order a box and booklets bundle: Order here <https://email.stargrange.com/t/r-l-jkkktin-otydihlgd-r/>

Let's do it together.

Plans are afoot for 2021.

Organisations and churches are making much of the opportunities of the new season. For us, we anticipate an enlarged number of churches and wider engagement with trypraying next spring. So we are inviting church leaders and network leaders to consider being part of an extensive invitation to people outside of church to consider doing life with God and to discover his outrageous kindness shown in Jesus.

Churches doing this together in towns, villages and cities make a powerful and positive impact.

If you are interested to join this and develop trypraying in your area in 2021 please get in touch with us: hello@trypraying.co.uk. We will be sharing more about this in the coming weeks.

Try it and buy it.

This is one of the novel ideas generated through the need to avoid personal contact with others. Instead of you passing on a copy of the trypraying booklet to someone you are concerned about, let us know and we will do it! If you use this button you can read a copy of the booklet and ask us to post it to them - even with your own message. Give it a go.

A request.

As we move in to a new phase with trypraying we need serious financial investment. To give churches across the UK the opportunity to engage with trypraying costs far more than we make by selling booklets. May I ask you to consider become part of the financial support team? We would love you to join us. If you are able to donate £10, £25, £50 or ? a month that would be a great help. Individuals giving, and praying, make an enormous difference. Thanks for giving this your attention.

Yes, I'd like to help <https://email.stargrange.com/t/r-l-jkkktin-otydihlgd-i/>

And finally.

This dropped in to our inbox this week from someone who had picked up a copy of the trypraying booklet.

My 13 year old grandson is adopted, and suffers from Abandonment Anxiety, a recognised medical condition, common in adopted children. He doesn't have the pleasantest personality. He is angry, violent, uncommunicative and unhappy. So when I picked up the the trypraying booklet, he was the family member for whom I chose to pray. The very first day, I got a text from him - the first ever - then later in the day I got an email. Not many words involved, but COMMUNICATION. And now there has been further progress.

Thank you for your interest and help.

David
