Pakistan Floods Emergency Appeal

Right now, a disaster of nightmarish scale is unfolding in Pakistan.

Some of the heaviest rains that have ever been seen in the region have left a third of the country under water. More than a thousand people have been killed, and around a million homes damaged or destroyed.

People have seen their whole way of life washed away. There is an urgent need for food, safe drinking water and shelter. Our local partners – including the church in Pakistan – are responding right now.

Along with other members of the Disasters Emergency Committee, Tearfund has launched an urgent appeal.

*    £10 could provide a mat, pillows and bed sheet to a person who has lost their home.

*    £47 could provide a two-week supply of food to a family who have lost their home.

*    £138 could provide eight families with a hygiene kit containing soap, washing powder, sanitary towels and toothpaste.

Together, as the church, we can bring the love of Christ in practical ways to people suffering because of these floods. Any amount you can give will be a lifeline.
