Pavement Project In The Amozonas

There are more than 15,000 riverside communities that are home to around 234,000 inhabitants in Amazonas, north-west Brazil. Among them is a large group of children who experience a lack of basic sanitation and precarious access to health, transport, and education. As a response to this, Pavement Project have trained two large partner organisations to use the green bag resources – PEPE Amazonas and Justice & Mercy Amazon – who are active in this part of Brazil.

Another training session starts this week with partner organisation MEAP (Evangelical Mission to Assist Fishermen) in Pauini between July 21 and 28. Pauini is deep in the Amazon jungle, requiring a long journey for the trainer, Hélito Couto. He will take a 7-hour flight from Rio and a 10-hour boat trip on the Purus River to conduct training for 10 missionaries who work with riverside villages.

Pray with us
Give thanks for how Pavement Project is being used in new communities in Brazil. Praise God for PEPE Amazonas and Justice & Mercy Amazon – pray for them as they use their new skills to counsel children using Pavement Project resources.

Pray for Hélito Couto – for safety and protection as he travels. Pray for the missionaries Hélito will be training – ask God to empower and strengthen them with wisdom and compassion.
