Lifewords Prayer May 14 - 20

Pavement Project

Every week, Pavement Project workers across 24 countries are working with 521 organisations to counsel children using the Bible’s life words. Every week hope is restored and lives are changed. One worker in Brazil recounts how Pavement Project has helped one young person she counselled:

“The first counselling I did, during my training, was undoubtedly challenging and impactful for me. Marcela* was 8 years old. She entered the counselling room very suspicious and restless. She was bouncing on the chair, getting up and sitting down, singing, and testing my limits all the time. There were moments when I thought she was not paying attention, but I was wrong. When the time for prayer came, she said her prayer beautifully, and asked for safety as her situation and feeling was one of fear. At the end of the counselling, I observed Marcela's joy because she understood that God loves and takes care of her she didn't need to be afraid anymore. I saw further change in Marcela as I gave her a pocket card that she held with great care. Without a doubt, since that first moment and with each counselling session, my life has been impacted by the power of transformation that the Word of God has in the life of each person who has been counselled with the green bag.”
