Dear Friends
Thank you for your ongoing support for refugees in the UK. We are grateful for the many ways that you are helping all those who have been forced to flee their homes and families.
As you know, many Ukrainians are now approaching the halfway point of their three-year visa from the UK government. We are hearing that the uncertainty of the visa's ongoing status is causing them concern and anxiety.
We would like to encourage the government to let us know as soon as possible how they intend to extend or amend the visa. We would also like to be able to provide the government with the relevant information to help them with their decision making. To help us gather this information, we have created a survey: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/UKRVisas
Your help in sharing this survey amongst Ukrainians you know would be greatly appreciated. It would help us to ensure that the voices of Ukrainians are heard by the government, and that they receive the stability and assurance that they need at this time.
Next week, we are holding a special summit that brings together key leaders from government, business, the university sector, refugee communities, and civil society. We are meeting together to identify effective ways to upskill Ukrainians so that they can be part of the rebuilding of their country after the war. We are particularly interested in utilising the power of the professional apprenticeship schemes to help with this. If you have any connections, experience or ideas in this area we are keen to hear from you.
We have submitted several applications to funders recently to help grow our work with refugee support and to continue to be a positive influence for a humanitarian approach in our work with government, schools, and wider society. If you or someone you know might be interested in being part of this funding work, please donate here or get in touch with us directly.
Thank you again for your support.
Sincerely
Krish Kandiah
