Friday 7 April

Rivers of living water will flow from deep within them

At the beginning of February, MAF Kenya flew a team from Foundations for Hope to complete an important project they’d been working on in the remote village of Timale.

The group of 12 have been working alongside 48 members of Kenya’s Agape Fellowship Centre, constructing a new church building and a well to provide the people with clean drinking water.

Before the well was constructed, the nearest water source, located miles from the village, was contaminated and unsafe to drink.

The 80-minute flight saved the team from having to take a 7-hour road trip, enabling them to arrive refreshed and ready for work.

The team also ran a four-day medical clinic in the community, with evangelists sharing the Good News.

Some of the patients made a round trip of about 20 miles on foot to receive free health care.

The evangelistic team also visited people in their homes and held meetings at the church site.

Once the building was completed, a service was held with members of the community the believers praising the Lord for all He had done.

Matt Mullinax, Co-Founder of Foundations for Hope, said:

‘Our prayer is that an eternal impact will be made in this community as men and women come together to be the hands and feet of Jesus. This community has had an impact on all of us. Much was accomplished, and many friendships made.’

Matt concluded by saying, ‘We appreciate MAF Kenya for making our trip a success and for bringing awareness to the mission of advancing the Gospel.’

Once the week was over, MAF flew the team home.

As a result of this initiative, 1,258 people received medical care and 243 became Christians.

Please pray

*    For everyone who was saved during the outreach. May they continue to grow in their faith. This Easter let’s give thanks that, through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, people are still being saved.

*    For the community’s health to improve now the villagers have clean water.

*    That the team from Foundations for Hope will be blessed in all they do as they share the Gospel with those living in remote areas.
