Prayer Connection June 4 - 10

Prayer Connection

Next Saturday's Prayer Connection email is scheduled to be my last one. Since last weekend was a holiday weekend, I'll repeat the following explanation.

I'm handing over this responsibility to Kimberly van Veen, MAF's newest writer and adult MAF MK (Gene and Lynn Jordan's daughter). No, I'm not retiring quite yet from MAF, but I'm starting to work part-time this month.

It has been a true joy for me to produce Prayer Connection over the years and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for lifting MAF up in prayer!! Now it's time for me to spend a little more time with my seven local grandchildren and my 88-year-old mother, who is herself a true prayer warrior.

Put your outdoor work in order and get your fields ready;
after that, build your house.
Proverbs 24:27 (NIV)

Sunday, June 4
Thank You so much, Yahweh God, for the wealth of wisdom found in Proverbs! Help us to prioritize our projects in a prudent way that is in line with Your good plans for Your kingdom as well as for us as individuals.

Monday, June 5
Please continue to fervently pray that pilot Ryan Koher and the two church orphanage volunteers, Willem and Eric, will be exonerated and completely released from any prosecution in Mozambique for attempting to transport vitamins and other over-the counter supplies to an orphanage in northern Mozambique.

Praise God for providing Annabel and sons new approval to stay with Ryan in Nampula until early November without traveling for another border visa.

Tuesday, June 6
BBC News reports that cholera is on the rise in northern Mozambique, including the city of Nampula, where the MAF team lives. Rumors and online posts have falsely claimed that using water purifiers actually spreads the disease. This has led to violent protests and deaths recently. Pray that those who are suffering from the cholera outbreak will receive proper medical care. Pray also that harmful misinformation will stop and effective preventative measures will be used.

Wednesday, June 7
Lift up Ben and Anna Samuelson, a pilot/mechanic family serving in Bunia, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Pray for the Samuelsons, that relationships with their Congolese neighbors would flourish as well as their ministry in the IDP (Internally Displaced People) camps around Bunia. Pray for safety as Ben flies Bible translators, pastors, aid workers, and supplies over areas that are impassable by ground.

Thursday, June 8
Pray for the Word of God to transform the people of Matsaile, Lesotho, where Bible studies are being held. However, attendance is lower because it is harvest season.

Friday, June 9
Lift up Mauricio and Rosalia Sanchez, missionaries with MAF since 2000 when they joined the MAF aviation program in Venezuela. Currently, Mauricio serves as the MAF Latin America Regional Director. Pray that God would lead them to those He is calling to financially support their MAF ministry.

Saturday, June 10
Pray for the future of MAF ministry in Haiti, that God will clarify, lead, and provide a way forward. Pray for the MAF missionary families who have been uprooted from Port-Au-Prince homes and are gathering in Nampa, Idaho, to wait on the Lord for direction and rest.
