Sunday, July 30
When a pilot flies, he (or she!) relies on training, a visual assessment of weather, and other factors based on experience. He has also come to know his tool, the airplane, so he knows what it can do in specific conditions. When his vision is removed, though, through a training exercise or bad weather, he must fully rely on that tool to get where he wants to go. He has to trust it completely. And that’s what our faith is like. We really cannot see ahead of us into the future. We cannot see into people’s spirits to know that God is working on them. We must fully trust that the Holy Spirit is doing His work even though we cannot see it.
