Sunday, July 2
Losing our lives for Christ’s sake doesn’t mean offering ourselves up for human sacrifice. Most often it means giving up control. It means ceding our desires and hopes to His will today. It might mean letting that comment from your spouse go unaddressed for once. It might mean skipping out on a Sunday afternoon nap to help a neighbor pack boxes. Losing our lives for Christ happens most often in these small-scale, daily choices. Pray this week for new eyes to see areas where you need to give up control to the Holy Spirit.
