The together difference

‘You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.’ (Matthew 5:14, NIV)

Tearfund’s vision for church transformation is to help the church to understand its mandate to be an instrument of the Lord’s hands in the countries where we work. My country is Ivory Coast.

Our work through local churches here is instrumental and very powerful. Because this is where we discover God's purpose for humankind. We have been created in the image of God. And God has provided us with the resources that we need to use wisely for the benefit of all people.

God's plan is for us to prosper. Poverty is not God's plan. God's plan is for our life to be better. And it is through working together as the church that we will achieve this.

We want to thank the church in the UK for the support that you are providing. We feel connected to you through Christ in how you support us. Thank you so much.

Lord, we pray for the church to continue to play its role in communities and be a beacon of light. For the church to stand as salt and light in communities, so that we can contribute to whole life transformation. Amen.
