Tearfund Lent Devotional Day 40
Your Anger
‘God is an honest judge. He is angry with the wicked every day.’ (Psalm 7:11, NLT)
There is always plenty to be angry about;
more than we could ever handle.
Make sure, then, that you do not give your anger
to the small. Leave the slights, the entitlements,
the hurts that you can't do anything about
except wallow, or heal.
There is always plenty to be angry about;
injustice and suffering and greed
are real. Heaven needs your anger,
so long as you give it direction;
so long as it joins with the cries of others
and in deliberate, relentless movements
becomes the transformation of the world.
There is always plenty to be angry about;
make sure, then, that you do not only
get angry.
