But ask in faith, never doubting.
Something to read
If any of you is lacking in wisdom, ask God, who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly, and it will be given you. But ask in faith, never doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.
- James 1:5-6 .
Something to think about
Christian Aid connects us with the work of local partner organisations around the world; together and in solidarity through our giving and actions, we move forward together to bring change in the lives of the poorest people.
Working for change requires action on many fronts, and sometimes the challenges can feel overwhelming.
The decisions about where to focus our efforts is a challenge for everyone in all parts of the world. Wisdom and discernment are needed continually as we make choices together.
Something to do
Take a moment today to review the world news websites, or read a newspaper.
You may find that one or two stories stand out to you which, show areas of the world where wisdom regarding the future is needed.
Take a moment to consider the work of those individuals and communities working for change, the uncertainties they face, and the tensions they may be feeling.
There may we ways in which you can get involved directly in supporting a response to their needs. Pray for wisdom for us all in our responses.
Something to pray
When doubts overcome me, Father,
And I feel uncertain,
Tossed around as if on the sea,
Send me the image of your son who calmed waves,
A reminder that I am never alone.
And, that in asking with faith
I am given,
All that I need.
