A secure future?
Something to read
There is no one like you...according to all that we have heard with our ears
- 2 Samuel 7:22, from full reading 2 Samuel 7:18-29.
Something to think about
Has someone ever been incredibly kind to your family? Given you something you could never imagine paying them back for? What’s your reaction when you’re blessed like that?
David responded with wonder and thankfulness after God promised him that his child would reign after him and that his descendants would rule Israel forever (v16).
David saw his own unworthiness and that of his family in comparison with God’s amazing grace.
‘Who am I...what is my house, that you have brought me thus far?’ (v18). ‘There is no one like you...according to all that we have heard with our ears’ is David’s response (v22).
David knows that there is nothing he can do in response to God's generosity apart from wonder, bless his name and thank him.
Something to do
How can you bless a family today so that they can have a secure future? Christian Aid works towards a world where families from around the world are able to have a secure future.
Something to pray
Thank you, Lord, for your care and blessings for our family. Help us to be a blessing to other families in need wherever they are.

Darllen: 2 Samuel 7:18-29
I feddwl amdano: Ydy rhywun wedi bod yn anhygoel o dda efo’ch teulu chi erioed, wedi rhoi rhywbeth ichi na allech chi byth feddwl am ei dalu’n ôl amdano? Beth ydy’ch ymateb chi pan gewch eich bendithio felly?
Rhyfeddod a diolch oedd ymateb Dafydd i Dduw yn y darn yma o ail lyfr Samuel lle mae neges Duw wedi dod ato y bydd ei blentyn yn cael teyrnasu ar ei ôl ac y bydd rhywun o’i linach yn teyrnasu yn Israel am byth (adn 16).
Gweld ei annheilyngdod ei hun a’i deulu wyneb yn wyneb â gras anhygoel Duw a wna Dafydd. ‘Pwy wyf fi... a phwy yw fy nheulu... dy fod wedi dod a mi hyd yma?’(adn.18) ‘ni chlywodd ein clustiau am neb tebyg i ti’ yw ei ymateb.
Mae’n ymwybodol iawn nad oes dim y gall ei ddweud na’i wneud mewn ymateb i haelioni anhygoel Duw ond rhyfeddu a bendithio’i enw a diolch iddo.
I’w wneud:
Sut fedri di fendithio teulu arall heddiw fel bod ganddyn nhw fwy o sicrwydd am eu dyfodol? Mae Cymorth Cristnogol yn gweithio er mwyn rhoi dyfodol i deuluoedd sydd mewn sefyllfaoedd bregus led led y byd.
I’w weddïo:
Diolch iti Arglwydd am dy ofal a’th fendithion i’n teulu. Helpa’n teulu ni i fod yn fendith i deuluoedd eraill lle bynnag maen nhw mewn angen.
