God wants the best for us.

Something to read

Our steps are made firm by the Lord, when he delights in our way; though we stumble, we shall not fall headlong, for the Lord holds us by the hand.

- Psalm 37:23-24.

Something to think about

These are powerful words of trust, trust from God in us while looking at us with pride, always ready to help us. There’s also a suggestion of us needing to trust God for it is in that trust that we will receive support and strength in whatever situation we might find ourselves.

It’s easy to forget that God loves us, wants what is best for us and takes delight in us enjoying the life created for us. These words are a reminder that when we live our lives in close relationship to God then we will know the Lord’s blessing in good times, and support, comfort and love in the more difficult times.

In our work at Christian Aid we want everyone to know that they are loved and valued and we strive to help people, often in desperate need, wherever they are. Whether you are a supporter of our charity or a recipient of help, know that you are upheld by God who walks alongside you in every situation.

Something to do

Think of someone that you take for granted, or perhaps a situation that benefits you, and spend time giving thanks to God for the special people who are a real blessing to us, or for a situation which gives us joy and peace.

Something to pray

Loving Lord Jesus, remind me when I’m tempted to forget, that you are there with me always, both through good times and not so good times. Remind me of the blessings I have around me and help me to respond to these by being a blessing to others. Amen.
