Agent for peace.
Something to read
And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace for those who make peace.
- James 3:18 .
Something to think about
Peace is that inner contentment when everything around you may be in turmoil. It’s a state of mind to know that although you may not be able to control your surroundings you can seek to control how you respond to them. Our verse for today talks about how you can be an agent for peace. Through your individual act of seeking peace there lies a 'harvest of righteousness'. Christian Aid seeks to sow these seeds of peace to reap a harvest of hope through their projects. All God calls you to do is make a difference in one person's life. That’s all you may possibly invest in, but the dividends can lead to a windfall.
Something to do
Seeking peace with someone comes with other added tasks such as forgiveness and reconciliation. It’s a process that may take time, however it is one we should not ignore if we are to receive healing and cleansing in our lives. Ask God to bring to your mind someone whom you need to seek peace with and start that process today.
Something to pray
God of peace, thank you that all true peace comes from you. You provide peace that passes all understanding. May we seek your peace in our lives today and become a conduit for peace in others.
