Fully embrace God’s love today.

Something to read

Beloved, since God loved us so much, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is perfected in us.

- 1 John 4:11-12.

Something to think about

Perhaps one of the most misunderstood words in the English dictionary is love. Whilst songs, poems and prose have been written to define its meaning. Our scripture for today simply equates love with God. Our response to God's love for us ought to be, that we become willing channels of God’ love to reach out to others. Its through the overflow of God's love through us that others become infected with this magnanimous outpouring of God’s calming presence and acceptance that is able to completely fill any void in people's lives. The premise upon which Christian Aid operates is to serve others through this overflow for it is a love that cannot be quenched.

Something to do

Reflect on your own life. Do you identify periods where people failed you through their lack of love? Remember human love will often fail and fall short, so fully embrace God’s love today. God’s love never fails and God accepts you just as you are.

Something to pray

Dear Lord, thank you for your unfailing love. It’s a love that cannot be measured. You love us despite of ourselves and we are greatly esteemed and valued through your eyes. May our self-doubt be removed in  the embrace of your love today. Amen.
