Daily Reading: 12 April

There are no magic solutions to living a godly life.
Something to read
Train yourself in godliness, for, while physical training is of some value, godliness is valuable in every way, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
- 1 Timothy 4:6–10.
Something to think about
Living a godly life is hard. Contrary to popular belief there are no magic solutions and it is something we have to continually struggle with. Just like physical training, this can be exhausting.
One of the easiest ways I find to live is to not worry too much about my end goal but to get on with living in the present. Literally take one day at a time. 'How can I live today?' is quite enough for me to deal with. Just in the same way, if I wanted to run the London marathon, I would not train by running 26 miles today but rather running just as far as I can today and building up slowly.
Each day we can incorporate simple nutrients and exercises into our lives to help us become more God like. What can we read about to enlighten us? What simple acts can we carry out to live more justly?
Something to do
Use our prayer diary to guide your prayer this week. Let yourself grow in the goodness of God.
Something to pray
Think about what you want to achieve today.
Sustainer God, help me live more like you.
Help me to take this one small step today.
