An Edinburgh church and its charity partner are preparing a Christmas Day lunch for about 120 homeless guests.

The congregation of the Parish Church of St Cuthbert and Steps to Hope, a charity that cares for homeless people and those battling addictions, are putting on the event to ensure people do not spend the day alone.

Inspired by the example of Cuthbert of Lindisfarne, a 7th century missionary bishop, mission outreach work is the beating heart of the congregation.

In addition to festive fellowship, guests will be given Christmas presents and a fresh set of clothing.
