Advent Day 17: A prayer from Katrona Templeton, mission pioneer worker
For the 17th day of Advent, Katrona Templeton, a mission pioneer worker leading the Presbytery of the South West's Reachout Together disability inclusion project, has written a prayer for us as we make our preparations for the Lord. Katrona and her team work alongside and in partnership with parishes – urban and rural – to build bridges between the disabled community and the Church and create new worshipping communities.
Lord of Moses,
Let us prepare the way by
Hearing those who struggle to speak,
Giving them our voices.
Lord of Saul,
Let us prepare the way by
Opening our eyes to them,
Following in their footsteps.
Lord of the Outcasts,
Let us prepare the way by
Welcoming those who are rejected,
Opening our hearts to them.
Lord of those who are made in Your image,
Let us recognise how You have prepared the way,
Let us recognise the gifts in others instead of their differences,
Let us recognise Your Kingdom here on Earth,
Let us recognise we are all made in Your image.
Amen
