This is no surprise, as fashion brands don't want you to associate their clothes with the poverty wages and exploitation that are rife in the garment industry.
This secrecy not only prevents customers from knowing the history behind their clothes, but it also prevents workers, trade unions and activists from pushing for living wages or better conditions.
