Cyclone Idai Appeal

Dear Friend,

Cyclone Idai has caused devastation across Mozambique, Malawi and Zimbabwe. Hundreds are dead and nearly half a million left homeless.

‘When I saw the damage, I thought "where will my four children sleep now?" We have lost everything,’ says Domitilda Cyclone Idai survivor.

Tearfund has launched an appeal as part of the Disasters Emergency Committee. Along with our partners we are already at work in the worst affected areas.

We will be providing emergency assistance, including food, cooking utensils and shelter, as well as seeds to replant crops destroyed by the winds.

Please can I urge you to give generously to support this crucial work?

I'm aware that we may have been in touch recently about another appeal, and we would usually avoid contacting you again so soon. However, this is a major emergency and the need is urgent and serious. I do hope you will understand why we are reaching out.

£50 could provide a family with food for one month.

Give £50 today <https://tearfund.us5.list-manage.com/track/click?u=cd19eb0b2a74af14054950f15&id=a818e20184&e=b67d6b82a4>

Please also pray for everyone affected by Cyclone Idai. In particular, remember everyone who is working tirelessly in treacherous conditions.

Thank you so much.

Yours in Christ,

Myles Harrison

International Director, Tearfund

PS In the unlikely event that we raise more than is needed to support these partners, your gift will be spent on similar emergency responses and to prevent the impact of disasters on other vulnerable communities.
