Minister To Abseil Forth Rail Bridge For Mental Health Charity

(from www.churchofscotland.org.uk)

A Church of Scotland minister will abseil down the Forth Rail Bridge on Sunday 15 October as part of a fundraising effort for the mental health charity Health in Mind Scotland.

Rev Lynn Brady

Rev Lynn Brady, who is the interim minister at Dysart St Clair Church of Scotland in Kirkcaldy, says she hopes to raise £500 to support the charity, which offers services ranging from talking therapies through to community projects supporting families and carers.

“I am doing this for Health in Mind Scotland as I know that mental health charities do not get the same support as other causes and because I have been helped in the past by the work of such a charity,” she says.

“I am not scared to do the Abseil. I think I will be on Sunday when I am waiting to come down the rail bridge. But it is nothing to living with the fear that consumes you when struggling with a mental illness.”

You can support Rev. Lynn Brady through her fundraising page.
