It's Going To Be Hotter Than Chad This Weekend

It’s not often that the mercury rises in the UK, but this bank holiday weekend is set to be a scorcher!

Here are our seven top tips for keeping your cool

MAF style...

When the floatplane lands in Bangladesh local kids take the opportunity to use the floats as a pontoon. It’s a great way to cool off!

Kids in Liberia are never happier than when they’re catching a wave near the coastal town of Harper. MAF partner Waves for Change is helping local kids exposed to poverty and violence face their fears and rebuild their confidence.

IMAGE - 3. Ditch the car<https://www.maf-uk.org/sites/default/files/Emails/enews/2019/08-23-19/3-ditch%20the%20car.jpg>

Anything has got to be better that being stuck in the car when it’s hot. We invited some of partners to tell us why they’d rather fly than travel by road in Liberia. Then we jumped on board to experience the journey for ourselves

Road trip anyone? <https://www.e-activist.com/ea-action/enclick?ea.urlid=3989588&ea.campaigner.email=%2FoQH3Pc8uUYW74CEhSYedNi7SBjRL51PURKQ3UxCEoI=&ea.campaigner.id=mHGxkhnTICi15xl1A%2FXc2A==&ea_broadcast_target_id=0>

If you're sweltering in the car this bank holiday weekend maybe you should try a plane? The outside temperature drops 2 degrees for every at 1,000ft you climb. Who wouldn’t want to be in the air in appreciating these stunning views?

IMAGE - 5. Find shade<https://www.maf-uk.org/sites/default/files/Emails/enews/2019/08-23-19/5-find%20shade.jpg>

Ladies wait under the wing of a Cessna Caravan at the airstrip near Kuron Peace Village, South Sudan, taking advantage of the temporary shade to rest awhile. So, take it easy and if you don’t have an aircraft wing nearby, you could try a garden parasol?

IMAGE - 7. Stay hydrated<https://www.maf-uk.org/sites/default/files/Emails/enews/2019/08-23-19/7-stay%20hydrated.jpg>

The bottles of water being unloaded from the plane here were donated by local businesses and flown by MAF to communities affected by the earthquake in Papua New Guinea earlier last year. Fresh water was in short supply so MAF helped supply the need. Our flights carry equipment that can be used to ensure communities have clean water on tap.

It’s important to stay cool and help others do the same!
