Compassion UK: Keep A Prayer Journal

Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits.

Psalm 103:2

It’s so easy to jump from prayer to prayer, from want to want. But in doing so, we often forget the many prayers in our life that have been answered. A few years ago, I began keeping a list of my “little miracles,” the instances in my life where I’ve seen God’s hand. During a rough time, I decided to get out that list and review it. I was so inspired. I wound up turning the list into a book! Seeing that picture of God’s faithfulness increased my expectation of what was to come and gave me renewed faith to start something fresh in my career.

Why not begin keeping a list of all the good things happen¬ing in your life? It doesn’t have to be fancy, just a little reminder of those everyday answers to prayer. Seeing the amazing things that God has done for you will inspire your faith and increase your expectations. It might be just what you need to keep going.

Reflection
What are you praying for over Lent? Write your prayers down today in a journal or notebook, and don’t forget to check back on them! It’s easy to forget what God has done when our prayers are answered and our needs change. Prepare for future times of need by remembering the many times he has already come though.

We've created three stunning prayer journal templates for you to download for free, print and use in your journalling.

Lord, you have been so good to me. You’ve done so much! You’ve seen me through countless tough seasons and blessed me beyond measure. Let me not forget all those wonderful works just because my needs and my focus have changed. Thank you for the wonderful things you’re about to do. In Jesus’ name, amen.
